Just home from a lovely peaceful stay in The Old Shop. Unfortunately we picked the worst weekend weather wise to go, but still enjoyed our stay. Room was nice and cosy, lovely breakfast and Susan very welcoming. Looking forward to a return visit, hopefully next year and for a bit longer.
Best dog friendly B&B we have booked, Susan could not do enough to make our stay so comfortable , Room was A1 with a view of the sea and her Scottish breakfast was the best .... Our two Border Terriers also give it the paws up and woofs, we sure will be re-booking for a longer stay with dryer weather we hope, the only thing the Old Shop had no control over otherwise I am sure Susan would have fixed it .
We stayed here for 4 nights. The caravan was big enough for 4 and well equipped and warm. It overlooked farm fields.
2 nights for wedding. Beautiful beach to walk along just over the road. Amazing light.
Susan was very friendly. Caravan well equipped and comfortable.
Short 2 day stay over to look around the Dumfries area. We'll definitely be returning as it's a beautiful part of Scotland. Carsethorn is in an ideal location for exploring the area.
Susan and George are extremely nice people and it's one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in. Recommend visiting Rockcliffe, Kippford, Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright.
We only stayed for one night during our golf holidays. We have never heard of this area before but fell for it instantly. We stayed during a real pet summer's day sitting outside the local pub and enjoying the lovely sea front. What a view to wake up to in the morning and the super breakfast we were served by the man of the house. We will certainly come back one day and would highly recommend the place.
We had a very enjoyable overnight stay with our very welcoming and friendly hosts.
We wanted somewhere quiet where we could have an evening stroll out to eat- here you can walk to the pub along the beach if you wish !
Excellent place to stay whilst attending an event in Dumfries, off the beaten track, very quiet.
2 nights as part of a golf break. Nice room overlooking Solway Firth. Good Scottish Breakfast, friendly owners. Vey peaceful setting with great pub nearby for food and drink.
very enjoyable - plenty to do and see- would recommend this b and b
